About Plastic Lumber:

Pure HDPE (#2) plastic makes all the difference when it comes to recycling. With 97 percent recycled material, our plastic lumber is so pure that it can be recycled a second time thanks to the high purity count in Type2 Material.

Color-stable, non-corrosive, and less expensive than new plastic, recycled plastic has a number of advantages. Additionally, recycling plastic reduces our dependence on fossil fuels and diverts waste from landfills.

Insects, moisture, and mold cannot penetrate Type2 Material, which means it won't rot, splinter, or become dinner for pests. Added UV inhibitors ensure color stability, while bonding agents ensure structural integrity by providing complete molecular linkage.

Here's how it works:

• You can recycle soda bottles, milk jugs, aspirin bottles, and other items right from your curbside. The materials are then sorted, crushed, and baled at a material recovery facility.
• After the containers are grinded into flakes, they are cleaned of residues and contaminants, then sent along the recycling chain.
• Colorant, UV inhibitors, and bonding agents are added to the clean plastic flakes before they are melted into pellets.
• As a final step, Type2 Material is extruded into furniture, ready to close the loop on unnecessary waste. Our dependency on fossil fuels is reduced when we demand recycled plastic instead of virgin plastics.
